The 2nd Annual Colorado Latino Festival will be held in downtown Longmont on Sunday, June 25 from noon-7 p.m. The event showcases our city as one of the most diverse in the state of Colorado highlighting our Latino diversity, heritage, culture, music and food. The Colorado Latino Festival is a joint collaboration between Longmont’s Barrio E’, a community organization promoting cultural diversity in the arts, and the Latino Chamber of Commerce of Boulder County.
Similar to last year’s festival, numerous resources, opportunities and valuable information from over 100 organizations, an expanded number of food vendors, more than 40 musical and cultural acts and fun and educational activities for all ages will be offered for free to festivalgoers. Last year’s event attracted nearly 7,000 visitors from Colorado and the surrounding states, and this year’s event hopes to see those numbers grow.
This year the Colorado Latino Festival will be partnering with Telemundo Denver who will serve as the Spanish-language TV sponsor. With Telemundo Denver’s sponsorship and through their television and social media reach, the Latino Festival hopes to draw 20,000 attendees this year. Throughout the planning phase for the event, Barrio E’ will feature the festival as a main component of The Multicultural Project, a movement aimed at creating diversity and inclusion in communities through coalitions of organizations and through the creation of community multicultural centers. This initiative should also help draw larger crowds this year.
The outdoor festival is held along Longmont’s historic Main Street in the Downtown Longmont Creative District. In addition to over 100 vendors and exhibitors, there will be two main stages for musical and dance performances and a third stage reserved for entrepreneurial acts and upcoming artists.
