Oskar Blues Brewery will host a Mardi Gras-themed grand opening of The Oak Room, their brand new event space at their Longmont brewery on Saturday, Feb. 25 starting at 3 p.m. The premiere, 4,275 square-foot event space is adjacent to the brewery and features views of their expanded barrel aging room, a private bar, custom-made oak barrel furniture and accessories and a 24’ projection screen. The grand opening will celebrate Mardi Gras in style with live music, authentic, Cajun food from Oskar Blues Homemade Liquids & Solids, a costume contest, and of course, their signature (and some rare) craft beers.
The event will feature exclusive beers on tap including: Cigar City Brewing Trousseau, a barley wine winter warmer, Cigar City Brewing 110K + OT 9th Batch, an Imperial oatmeal raisin cookie brown ale, and Perrin – No Rules, a Bourbon BA Imperial Vietnamese Porter w/ coconut, cinnamon, and turbinado sugar. In addition to these rarities, The Oak Room will serve a huge selection of Oskar Blues favorites, brews from Perrin Brewing and Cigar City Brewing, and B. Stiff & Sons sodas.
This year’s Mardi Gras soirée is headlined by the Lionel Young Band, winners of the 2011 International Blues Challenge competition. And since no Mardi Gras festivity is complete without a parade, the event will feature a Guerrilla Fanfare Second Line Parade & Stilt Walkers. The parade will travel around the brewery to end the evening’s festivities. The schedule of events for the day includes:
3 p.m. – Doors Open
5 p.m. – New Orleans Style Food & King Cake
5 – 7:30 p.m. – Lionel Young Band
5:45 – 6:45 p.m. – Guerrilla Fanfare Second Line Parade & Stilt Walkers
