Longmont Museum Hosts Exciting Performances and Programs This December

The Longmont Museum & Cultural Center will be hosting their 3rd Annual Holiday Festival along with performances by Boulder Opera, Bach-in-Longmont and the Fort Collins Opera throughout the month of December. In addition to these events, there will be some kid-friendly programs including brunch with Santa and a Harry Potter-themed Yule Ball. Boulder Opera presents Cinderella
Sunday, Dec. 3 | 3 p.m.
Tickets: $18/Adults; $15/Students & Seniors
Boulder Opera presents Cinderella, a perfect introduction for children into the spellbinding world of opera. Based on the beloved fairy tale, this rare 19th-century work will be presented as a specially arranged one-hour version. Boulder Opera’s talented artists bring this enchanted world to life complete with gorgeous costumes and a chamber orchestra. Friday Afternoon Concert Series & Art Show
Opera Fort Collins
Friday, Dec. 8 | Art Show 1:30 p.m.; Concert 2:30 p.m.
$10/General Admission
Arias and carols will grace this performance as members of Opera Fort Collins fill the concert hall with music from the rich world of opera. BACH-in-LONGMONT presents A World Transformed
Saturday, Dec. 9 | 7:30 p.m.

A World Transformed will present thrilling and colorful post-impressionist works by Bartók, Enescu, Ives and Berg complemented by the music of Johannes Brahms and performed on period instruments – a first for Colorado! 3rd Annual Longmont Museum Holiday Festival

The Longmont Museum’s holiday tradition continues for its third year. Join the Museum for songs of the season and holiday cheer from some of the finest musicians and performers in the region including: the Heath Walton Jazz Quintet, Longmont’s Centennial State Ballet performing excerpts from The Nutcracker, Venezuelan rhythms from Gonzalo Teppa and much more. Sunday tickets include a special reception with Santa that includes cookies and hot cocoa before the concert. This event has sold-out the past two years – make sure to purchase your tickets well in advance. Santa Story Time & Brunch
Thursday, Dec. 21 | 9-10:30 a.m. or 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
$12/Person
Celebrate the magical holidays at a story time and brunch with Santa. Delicious food will be served along with holiday cheer as Santa entertains your whole family with stories. Yule Ball
Saturday, Dec. 30 | 6-8 p.m.
$15/Person (Children ages 3 and under are FREE)
Are you ready for a night of magic? Dance and feast with the Museum and the Grey Havens Group, a literary and philosophical non-profit for all ages, at the Harry Potter-themed Yule Ball. Renowned witches and wizards from all over the world will be on hand for lessons in the magical arts. In addition to these special events, the Longmont Museum’s current, hands-on exhibition is Dinosaur Discoveries: Ancient Fossils, New Ideas. This engaging exhibit reveals a vivid picture of what living, breathing dinosaurs were really like. Tickets are just $8/Adults; $5/Students & Seniors; Children age 3 and under are FREE.
