Longmont’s Downtown Summer Concerts kick off their 2017 season starting Friday, June 9.
The Downtown Summer Concerts are held on 4th Avenue between Main and Kimbark Streets. Admission is free. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. The opening act will go on at 6 p.m., and the main act will take the stage at 7 p.m. Upcoming dates for the Downtown Summer Concerts are: June 9, July 28, and August 25.
This year’s concerts will continue to feature great live music from regional artists, local craft beer, wine, spirits and cider as well as tasty eats featuring 7 West Pizza, Breakers Grill, Georgia Boys BBQ and Samples World Bistro. A kids’ area will be provided by Dizzy Family Fun Center. Admission is always free!
Friday, June 9 the Longmont Downtown Development Authority (LDDA), the Education Foundation for the St. Vrain Valley, and area sponsors will host the 4th Annual St. Vrain Valley High Schools Reunion. If you went to high school at Longmont, Skyline, Silver Creek, Niwot, Lyons, Erie, Frederick, or Mead, make plans to head downtown to catch up with old friends and classmates. On Friday, July 28, Great American Taxi headlines in downtown Longmont. Great American Taxi are a rock & roll classic, a timeless mixture of gutsy pop, calloused hand country, blue-eyed R&B, and bare-knuckle barroom chooglin’ with songs for the everyman and woman grinding out the working week and anxious to shuffle the day’s cares away.
The season wraps up on Friday, August 25 with Josh Hoyer and Soul Colossal. Josh Hoyer appeared on season 12 of The Voice, as part of #TeamBlake. The group’s combination of soul, funk and R&B is in a word, electric.
