Boulder County Farmers Markets, which runs growers-only markets featuring locally grown produce, locally produced food products, and local artisans, is open for the 2017 season at Longmont’s Boulder County Fairgrounds. The market will be held Saturdays from 8 a.m.-1 p.m.
The award-winning market opened April 1 and will remain open until November 18, 2017, the longest market season in Colorado. This year’s market will continue to host popular, weekly events including live music from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., free kids’ activities, free parking, and complimentary bike valet provided by Bicycle Longmont. Artisan shows are held every fourth Saturday of the month. The 2017 Artisan Show Schedule will be: April 22, May 27, June 24, July 22, August 26, September 23 and October 28.
Over 60 vendors are slated to be on hand every Saturday for this year’s market. Those vendors include local farmers, food trucks, coffee baristas, wineries, bakeries, crafters, artisans and so much more! There will be lots of great opportunities to eat your way through the market, and great gift items to bring home with you.
The Boulder County Farmers Markets were an idea a group of local farmers came up with in 1986. What started with a few tables of produce loaded off the backs of pick-up trucks, has evolved into three, robust, destination markets in Longmont, Boulder and Denver’s Union Station. This year the markets celebrate their 31st season.
The Boulder County Farmers Market is held at the Boulder County Fairgrounds, 9595 Nelson Rd. There is plenty of free parking, and admission is also free. For more information about Boulder County Farmers Markets, visit bcfm.org.
