Firehouse Art Center and Bin 46 Wine Bar & Restaurant are teaming up to bring a new event to the streets of Longmont. The inaugural Longmont Chalk Art Street Fair & Bin Market is a free, two-day event that will showcase nearly 40 chalk artists and features a special food and wine pairing dinner. The festival will take place September 30 and October 1 on the 600 block of Longs Peak Avenue in downtown Longmont.
Over the two days of the Longmont Chalk Art Street Fair and Bin Market visitors will be given the rare opportunity to watch artists transform a blank canvas into a work of art. The festival is free to attend and will be from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. both Saturday, Sept. 30 and Sunday, Oct. 1. Nearly 40 chalk artists will be working on their creations throughout the weekend, and the fair will showcase four featured artists: John Cross, Grace Gutierrez, Mario Olvera and Bryce Widom.
The goal of this event is to create a venue for artists, vendors and visitors to enjoy live art, music and work by local artisans for a fun, family weekend. There will be live music, food, wine tasting tents and artisan vendors, not to mention a kids’ corner where young attendees will get a chance to make some chalk art of their own!
In addition to watching artists create art on the streets, a special Pop-up Dinner will be held on Saturday, Sept. 30 from 6-10 p.m. This food and wine pairing will be hosted by Bin 46 Wine Bar & Restaurant and will be held under the stars. The evening will begin with live entertainment, passed appetizers and a meet & greet with the chalk artists. Local chefs and chefs-in-training are collaborating with local farms, Aspen Moon, Ollin Farms, Buckner Family Farms and 7X Farms, to put together an unforgettable dinner. Baroness Wines will be choosing and serving fine wines to pair with the evening’s menu.
There are two options for attending the dinner: general admission and VIP admission. VIP guests will receive additional appetizers and wine tastings, a gift bag and a chef and wine demonstration during the event. General admission tickets are $45/person and VIP are $125/person.
