17th Annual Longmont Studio Tour Takes Visitors Behind the Scenes

Nearly 60 local artists will open their studios to the public for free, self-guided tours for the annual Longmont Studio Tour on September 23 and 24 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. The Longmont Studio Tour was founded in 2000 enabling members of the public to interact with award-winning and nationally recognized artists, as well as, emerging artists who have been juried into the tour. 36 studios are included, and many of the artists will be doing informal demonstrations of their art.

Many different styles of media will be represented including oils, watercolors, acrylics, photography, ceramics, encaustics, sculpture, fiber arts, jewelry, glass, printmaking and mixed media. Visitors participating in the tour will have the chance to embark on a free, self-guided tour to discover the rich, visual arts community that exists in the Longmont area.  It is a chance to speak directly with artists in their own creative environment, and original art will be available for purchase.

Studio Tour artists are currently reaching out to the community through a series of free workshops and demonstrations.  These art activities are taking place at venues including ArtWalk on September 16 and the Downtown Block Party Festival on August 26. Additionally, a preview of the artists’ work will be on display at the Arts Longmont Gallery from September 8-24.
